Barcadera 1 is a pearl sitting right above one of Bonaire’s premier dive sites - Oil Slick Leap - which got its name because it was destined to become an oil storage terminal. Luckily the site was left completely untouched and the only reminiscent of the plan is the name. The house is owned passionate divers, and very few dive experiences can match that you can dive right from you back yard. Oil slick Leap is a popular site for night dives - not at least because it is a great place to see ostracod. You can easily gear up at the house and 30 seconds later you are in the water.

Barcadera 1 is very dog friendly. The owners' two golden retrievers visit several times a year.
