The unique architecture and tranquility of Barcadera One combined with the location on top of one of the most premier dive sites in Bonaire, Oilslick Leap, makes it one of the islands new landmarks. Among many locals, it is know as the ‘wooden house’ - a compliment to the architect provided his task to make a… wooden house! The wood work made by highly specialized Brazilian carpenters is outstanding. Designed with large, movable panels, the large outdoor quarters can be configured in a wide variety of ways to fit the guests.

Phase two of the ‘Barcaderas’ project was embarked on in January 2022. In addition to the existing, infinity pool at the deck level, the lower level is getting a dedicated lap / dive training pool, a covered deck for teaching, preparing dive equipment, two large additional rinse sinks, a gear drying deck and lockers for dive gear.
